Solicitors, mediators and Cafcass professionals see the same thing daily: the case is sound, the messages are a liability. Neutrily gives high-conflict clients a channel that lowers the temperature, and produces a record that survives scrutiny.
“Retrieved” is an authenticated action taken on the recipient’s own device — not a provider flag either parent can switch off, unlike WhatsApp’s read receipts. Each receipt says only what we can actually show, and the export says so on its face.
Every message carries a SHA-256 digest frozen when we received it, and the database refuses edits and deletes on these records — so anyone holding a copy of the text can check it is the text we received. It is not a signed chain, and it does not by itself prove the set is complete. We would rather state the narrow property than the comfortable one.
Rewrites never alter dates, times, amounts or names. That’s enforced mechanically, and the original text remains on the record under audited access. What was actually said is never lost; it’s just no longer the client’s opening position.
A message threatening physical harm is held for a person rather than delivered. The check is narrow and we publish exactly what it does and does not catch — including that it fails open during an outage. We’d rather you knew the edges than trusted a broad promise.
